Welcome to Rocky Road Haus! Tucked just right in amongst the quaking aspens and old-growth spruce, this Bavarian-Esque-styled home is ideal for families and friends. This home features an in-wall oxygen system, delivering fresh O2 to two hoses in the living room and two hoses in each of the bedrooms. Perfect for preventing altitude sickness for those guests coming from lower elevations. Between the main and guest house, there are eight bedrooms for ample sleeping arrangements and utmost privacy. In the main house there are six bedrooms on various levels. The bunk room downstairs is the den for kids to hide away and play. Over in the guest house, there are two more bedrooms and a unique lofted space with a playful ladder to climb. Plus, there is a romantic cedar hot tub just off the main bedroom. The backsplash is a rustic stone wall with glass-front cabinets mounted to it that display the sparkling glassware. The gas range is topped by a bespoke metal hood that reaches up to the beamed ceiling. Nearby, a spacious dining table has seating for ten people and unobstructed views of the mountain peaks. The kitchen island also has barstool seating for three people. An additional dining table on the outdoor patio is the perfect spot for an alfresco meal set against the backdrop of the mountains. Each of the four bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom and available extra oxygen that assists with sleeping at these higher altitudes. Located in a premier residential neighborhood of downtown Telluride, the Historic Thompson House can be traced back to 1898 and the early 20th century when the Thompson family settled here from Finland. The home was then kept in the family all the way through the 1970s. In 2023, new owners completed a to-the-studs remodel and redesign that you can now enjoy. The home is located on a sunny, oversized lot with ideal south-facing views of the mountain and ski runs. It’s an easy two-block walk to lift seven and the gondola, where Mountain Village is a picturesque ride away! Just a short walk to the main street shops and restaurants, it is also one block from one of the area's trendiest bars, a wine store, a popular restaurant, and the beautiful San Miguel River trail.
